How It Works
Cryptolize secures your communication with friends, business partners and clients.
It provides strong encryption without software installation - for email, SMS, WhatsApp, Messenger, Skype - and even for Facebook and Twitter posts!
Cryptolize is Zero-Knowledge - we can’t decrypt messages created by our users and never receive unencrypted messages, attachments, passwords, passphrases and private keys. User encryption keys are generated in his web browser during registration to the service and the private key is encrypted in the browser before storing it in the cloud. We can access your encryption keys only if you decide to use Cryptolize Password Recovery Service or Cryptolize SMS Service for passphrase sharing - and we will never use them for any other purpose.
Encryption is performed in the web browser on the sender device (computer or smartphone/tablet) and decryption is done in the web browser on the recipient device - without sending passphrase or unencrypted private key and data over the network. Message attachments are also encrypted by the browser before uploading to our service.
The result of encryption is a regular web link, which could be sent to the recipient over any digital communication channel - or posted online.
Your personal Cryptolize Page is the simplest way to receive strongly encrypted messages and documents from anybody on the web to your regular mailbox. It is a web-based contact form that uses your public encryption key to encrypt the message in the sender’s browser before sending it to your email. You can share Cryptolize Page link with your contacts, post it online and print on your business card. Show your partners and clients that you are serious about protecting their data!
When you send messages and documents to registered Cryptolize users, there is no need to choose passphrases or encryption keys and share them - Cryptolize will automatically use the recipient public key for encryption, simplifying both encryption and decryption processes even more. A good reason to invite your friends and clients to register!
When you send messages and documents to a recipient who is not a registered Cryptolize user, we will generate a strong passphrase for encryption. You can use Cryptolize SMS Service to send the passphrase to the recipient or can share it yourself over another communication channel (e.g. message by email and passphrase by WhatsApp).
Technical Details
Cryptolize uses open-source Javascript implementations of the AES-256 symmetrical algorithm and P-521 NIST elliptic curve asymmetric algorithm. Both are implemented with the Stanford Javascript Crypto Library: Stanford Javascript Crypto Library.
